Mariana Newport, Senior Research Executive – London
Mariana read Philosophy, Politics and Economics at York then went on to do a MSc in Latin American Politics in London. Her career in research started when she travelled to the most distant outposts of the Brazilian semi-arid region to interview poor farmers about water issues for her Master’s fieldwork. The results of the study were published and led to a number of consulting assignments with organisations such as the World Bank, the United Nations Development Program and the Brazilian government. Returning to the UK four years later, Mariana made her first foray into commercial research at Intrepid, focusing on technology and media clients. At Flamingo, Mariana works on a broad range of accounts encompassing beauty, technology and FMCG. Mariana is a bit of a third culture kid, having lived in South Africa, Botswana and Colombia before coming back to the UK to go to university. She speaks fluent Portuguese and Spanish.
