Being a strong believer in creativity and great ideas, I set up Asylum in 1999 after having worked as a design director in Ogilvy and Mather Singapore and Bartle Bogle Hegarty Asia Pacific. In Asylum, we deal with all facets of design, interactive design, product development, environmental and interior design, packaging, apparel design, branding, and graphic design, proving that great design should transcend across all media and discipline. Recently, we also added a retail arm in Asylum, specializing in experimental music, books on culture and design, limited edition fashion products and contemporary art from designers. The store is also a platform where designers can come together, exchange ideas and be inspired. It plays host to a series of free workshops where local and international luminaries share their ideals and passion. We have started our own brand of merchandise and will start marketing it in mid 2006. Other than being an advocate for good design, I am a fanatic traveler, shopper, clubber, music and wine lover. I am well versed in trends in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai and also Tokyo.
